Overview

Are you looking for a resource for first-time drivers? Traditional racing schools provide instructors and a program of racing that will bring you up to speed. Track days, or HPDE (High Performance Driving Education) events often offer some limited instruction, but never enough, and always delivered at a moment when you are already overwhelmed by a wealth of new information, which makes it all hard to digest. Zero to Apex is a resource that you could study before you arrive on track, giving you a leg up, with key information you can put into action immediately. Here, you will gain enough background and concepts that when you drive on track for your first session, you can speak the language of racing, and begin to build on those concepts with actual experience. Racing is a blast, and if you take your time to understand the concepts here, you will learn to love it even more.

Reviews

""Going from a racing fan to an eventual participant can be a daunting undertaking. John's book does a fantastic job of guiding someone through the process and introducing them to the key fundamentals of performance driving."" Chris Ortenburger Flying Lap Media While I'll likely never be the next Hamilton or Verstappen, this book is a great read for someone like myself looking to dip a toe in the world of driving racing cars. I've glanced at a few other how to style driving books, but this one I honestly found to be very approachable and easy to digest. The quick tips and diagrams also help someone like myself (who isn't the most technical or familiar with complex vehicle vocabulary). Would recommend - especially for an enthusiast or someone considering amateur racing activities like a track day or local SCCA event.
