"Robert Byrne's absolutely wonderful, YES, this really did happen, will make your sides split laughing. Not only does Byrne perfectly capture the hijinks of his beautifully misspent youth in early seventies Los Angeles, he reminds us of a surprisingly innocent era of life in cars, the trials and tribulations of young dating, drinking a little too much, playing in rock bands, casual yet loving parenting, and all the fun and near-death to be had in one young man's relentless and risk-loving pursuit of a good time. It's great to go along on Byrne's many close calls and know that he made it out both wise and alive.
