"""An excellent exposition of the Christian liturgy as the service of the whole Christ, of head and body. While many Christians undervalue liturgy, Knight shows how Christ ministers to his people through liturgy. The ecclesial body of the Son is the mutual work of Father, Son, and Spirit--making available to the world the forgiveness of sins and just judgment in the public square. A book rich in insights in liturgical and political theology. Highly recommended!"" --Stephen Arden Long, Providence College ""Reading Douglas Knight's Worship and Eucharist is like reading a collection of proverbs. Lapidary, taut, declarative, each sentence demands patient attention so its surface simplicity may open to its unexpected theological depths. As Knight cycles through the acts of worship--gathering, hearing, singing, praying, Eucharist--he shows how the liturgy encompasses the city and the future. Worship and Eucharist is a book of unsurpassed liturgical-political wisdom."" --Peter Leithart, president, Theopolis Institute ""An excellent exposition of the Christian liturgy as the service of the whole Christ, of head and body.
