Author Information

Sorja Satu Reese was born in Finland in 1966 as Sorja Satu Lumivirta. At the age of five, she migrated to Australia with her parents and four older siblings. Sorja now lives in Western Australia with David (who originates from Texas, America), her husband of twenty-seven years and their two beloved fur babies. Unable to have children, their dogs have been their lifeline-sadly Misha, Cheyenne and Krystal have passed over the rainbow bridge, however, Sorja and David take comfort in having Xena and Tikaani in their lives. As of 2022, Sorja can list a number of personal and professional achievements: -Tertiary education at The Tasmanian College of Hospitality achieving an Associate Diploma of Business (Travel and Tourism) in 1991;-Tertiary education at The Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors achieving a Diploma of Professional Counselling in 2006;-Art Therapist 2007; Reiki I Practitioner 2009; -Reiki II Practitioner 2010; qualified as a Reiki Master in 2015. Sorja has worked in many fields including weight loss, addictions, stress management, relaxation therapies, and creative art therapy to help heal issues of abuse, self-esteem and knowing oneself.In December 2020, her dream of becoming a published author was fulfilled with her memoir 'A TREE WITH NO LEAVES - A Life Lived Through Infertility, IVF and Breast Cancer'. Sorja is an accomplished Reiki Master, Qualified Counsellor, Art Therapist and Published Author. In addition, her love of colour and texture is expressed through her works of art, whether through acrylic paintings, pastel drawings, or charcoal expression.
