Overview

Woodworkers learn to express their faith in wood with the 76 inspirational scroll saw patterns included in this book. These patterns focus on combining scripture verses with artistic imagery. An overview of wood, tips for scroll saw blade selection, tips for cutting patterns, finishing, matting, and framing techniques provide woodworkers with everything they need to know to get started. Four additional mini-projects feature full-size patterns and detailed instructions for cutting success. These projects include a wooden Bible case, bookmark, letter holder, and greeting card. Author Information

Dr. Jeff Paxton lives in Russellville, Arkansas, where he serves as the Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Dover. In his time away from church work, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife, Marci, and their two children, Austin and Ashley. He also operates Paxton's Portraits and Projects, a small business from his home that primarily consists of Christian scrollwork and personal portraits cut in wood. He also sells his scrollwork in two booths at a local Collector's Gallery Craft Mall and, as time permits, works several craft shows throughout the year. This is his first book for Fox Chapel Publishing Company. Readers can contact Jeff at jpaxton@cswnet.com or fbcdover@cswnet.com.
