Author biography: In the 1980s and 1990s, Jill Spisak published in small literary and lesbian magazines including Sinister Wisdom where she also currently has poems accepted. She also won a best poem award from the South Atlantic Modern Language Association for a poem from her chapbook, Rachel. Since the death of her life-partner, Sandy Hamer, she has maintained balance with a period of prolific writing, and has three additional manuscripts ready to follow the publication of her grief poems. She reads regularly around Atlanta, and can be found generally at The ArtsXchange poetry mics and workshops, as well as at Theresa Davis' Java Speaks Virtual Open Mic through Eventbrite. She is enjoying the competitive performance of slam poetry quite a lot these days with her next slam coming up April 4, 2023 at The ArtsXchange. She lives on Lake Lanier outside Atlanta where she has become an avid sailor, and an all around fan of all things
