Overview

Spies lie and spies die in this fast-paced cold-war action thriller! 4.5 Stars on 216 reader reviews! As WW II grinds to an halt in the rubble of Nazi Germany, all eyes turn to the next 'cold' one. The Americans, the Russians, and the British know the future belongs to whomever can grab Hitler's 'Wonder Weapon' technology, because his new rockets, jet fighters, and submarines will shape the balance of world power for decades to come. Old enemies become tomorrow's allies, old friends can't be trusted, and lies and double-dealing are now the norm in this spy vs spy thriller. Caught in the cross-fire is the torrid but impossible love affair between Ed Scanlon, a brilliant American OSS agent and Hanni Steiner, the gritty, street-smart leader of the communist resistance cell in Leipzig, who find themselves in a tug of war over the plans for Germany's revolutionary Me-262 jet fighter that is now sweeping the skies of American B-17s. To succeed, they must outwit each other while staying one-step ahead of Otto Dietrich, the sadistic Gestapo Chief of Leipzig, who has his own plans for the jet fighter plans. So does Scanlon's perfidious British handlers and Hanni's KGB masters in Moscow. Driven by the uncompromising dictates of Josef Stalin, Lavrenti Beria, Allen Dulles, Heinrich Himmler, and Winston Churchill, Ed and Hanni must succeed or die, and the winner will indeed lose all. Looking for a good beach book or something to curl up wit in front of the fire? The author of Winner Lose All, has 7 other action-adventure novels on Kindle, with over 600 Five-Star Ratings. If you like Ed Scanlon, you'll like the author's new Bob Burke suspense thriller series with Burke's War, Burke's Gamble, and his new Burke's Revenge, as well as The Undertaker, Aim True, My Brothers, Amongst My Enemies, and Thursday at Noon. Reviews

Kayak Jay, Amazon Reviewer, 5 Stars! An Emotional Epic! I seldom finish a book with years running down my cheeks, but I did with this one. It is so well written and true to the human personality that it takes a heavy toll on the reader. I read all the WWII books I can get my hands on, and this is historically accurate and a great story. It is a long book but I will read it again. Joan Shulman, Amazon Reviewer, 5 Stars! The Title Says it All! The last book I reviewed by William Brown was Aim True My Brothers. Like that book, I felt Winner Lose All was similar in style to the Tom Clancy, Jack Ryan series. Glynn Young, Amazon Reviewer: 5 Stars! An exciting, riveting read that explores courage and treachery, love and fear. Another crackerjack novel of World War II, following last year's Amongst My Enemies. The reader is right there, carried along for one wild, breathtaking ride. Tanya, Amazon Reviewer: 5 Stars! If you want a really good story, one that pulls you into the action, then this is the book to read. Winner Lose All is a WWII era drama with a strong list of characters, both the good guys/bad guys, and some you just can't decide where they fall in this tale of intrigues. It's a non-stop adventure. Peter A. Armenia, Amazon Reviewer, 5 Stars! Surprised! This is the first book I have read from this author. I was looking for a quick read, a Clancy like novel with the setting of WW ll and/or the Cold War. It is exceptionally well written.
