OverviewBased on the authors' clinical psychotherapy experience, this study of lesbian lives and experiences suggests a new framework which does not generalize all lesbianism. It seeks to develop psychotherapeutic practice which is open to individual life histories, relationships and identities. Surveying a wide range of psychoanalytical ideas concering lesbianism, from Freud to Jung and Lacan, the study addresses questions of sexual identity, sexual desire, gender and psychoanalytical training.
