Overview

Testimonials from newspaper columns syndicated in advance of the 1952 Presidential Election-as offered by men and women, great and small, who glimpsed Dwight D. Ike Eisenhower for a moment or knew him for a lifetime. This 2012 re-issue of Why I Like Ike coincides with growing interest in the Eisenhower Memorial project . . . and the project's timely slogan, I Still Like Ike. WHAT THEY ARE SAYING ABOUT WHY I LIKE IKE President George H. W. Bush: I liked Ike because like most (if not all) World War II veterans, President Eisenhower was a hero of mine. Judge William Webster, Former Director of the FBI and of the CIA: Helps explain Ike's enduring greatness. Tom Brokaw, Author, The Greatest Generation: Gil Robinson reminds us how great Ike was in war and peace. Where are the 21st century Eisenhowers? Dr. David M. Abshire, President, Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress: A delightful account that explains in a vivid way why Americans like Ike.
