Overview

Journalist, novelist, music critic, pianist, sportsman - it has taken Fraser Beath McEwing the experience of a lifetime to answer this question: What is it that directs all living creatures to behave the way they do? He calls it Mind Architecture, and it adds another chapter in the ongoing quest to understand evolution. Where did this information come from? That's a story in itself, something that is innate in all of us, yet not widely understood or exploited to our benefit. Easy to read, yet profound in its message, Why Does My Dog Bark? explains the powerful force behind behaviour and how to deal with it. We are all philosophers.

Reviews

Why does My Dog Bark? by experienced author, Fraser Beath McEwing, is an in depth discussion of what influences our minds in many fields of human behaviour, endeavour and thought, from how we view time, religion, prayer and many other topics I will loosely call, staying alive stuff. His discussions on what he calls Mind Architecture, suggest outcomes and answers for so many scenarios of human thought, and that these answers can be channelled by our Mind Architecture. Other great thinkers and writers are discussed briefly at times to enhance his points. Professor Stephen Hawking, who is quoted - there is a sense in which we live on, (when we die), in our influence, and in the genes we pass on to our children. I would like to extend these thoughts that genetics and what I call, tribal mentality , hold a great sway in looking at Mind Architecture. Fraser, your book was challenging to read and think about, and I would encourage others to read it and be challenged by the many theses put forward. You sum up your thinking succinctly in your own words - Mind Architecture obliges us to have a belief, but we can decide what we believe in. So, Why Does My Dog Bark?........simply because it can........a very catchy title. Congratulations. Judith Flitcroft Fraser draws on his life extensive experiences to articulate succinctly that we can always rationalise our behaviours. His meaningful suggestions with myriads of outstanding examples are worthwhile to consider... Sundram Sivamalai - Review on Why does my dog bark
