Whitlock. Mr. Whitlock was born on April 26, 1898 who ensured Charlene, his oldest granddaughter that she would possibly want to share the educational legacy, love of family with avid readers. A retired Registered Nurse, Charlene is a lifetime member of the NBNA, KYANNA in Louisville, KY, serving a second terms as an Executive Committee member of her Louisville branch of the NAACP which she joined as 13 year old Civil Rights Activist in late winter, 1961. During this time, the American Civil Rights marches in Louisville, KY caused voters to choose Mayor William O. Cowger, who signed the Public Accommodations Law on May 1, 1963 which made Louisville, KY the 1st city in the South to have that particular law of Integration.
