Overview

Woodbury the boatbuilder needed to rid his house of mice but could not bear the thought of hurting them. By choosing to trap a mouse ""the same old way everyone else did"", Woody realized he made an awful mistake. However, true to his nature, Woody was able to surrender to ""the calmness of the endless sea"". In so doing, he found a way to resolve the age-old conflict between heart and mind, as well as mice and men. It was just what the world needed!

"""This is not just a story; it's a poignant journey into the heart of compassion, creativity, and the delicate balance of life, masterfully narrated by Victor Orne. Through the lens of Woodbury, a gentle boatbuilder, readers sail on an evocative tale that explores the depth of kindness and the power of peaceful solutions. Orne's craftsmanship in storytelling mirrors his real-life expertise in boat building, making each page a beautifully illustrated harbor of wisdom and a testament to the importance of understanding and empathy in resolving conflicts. This modern-day classic is a treasure trove of life lessons, rendered with such grace and simplicity that it promises to touch the souls of both young and old, reminiscent of the timeless elegance found in ""The Giving Tree"" and ""Jonathan Livingston Seagull."" Sean Thompson - Best selling Author of Creativity is Everything OnlineBookClub.org Editorial Reviewr of ""Where Mice Meet the Sea"" by Victor Orne. This book was enjoyable to read. What I enjoyed the most was the plot. It may appear insignificant, but it is a serious issue that most people avoid discussing. Most people believe that harming animals is the only way to solve a problem or make a point, but Woody demonstrated otherwise. I admired his fondness for the mice. It was a genuine emotion. This book will help to raise awareness about animal safety and teach humans how to create safer pest-control methods that do not harm animals. This book also emphasizes the importance of devoting time to reflection. When the author mentioned being at sea, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. This book is full of optimism and serenity. Woody's personality is fantastic, and I admire it greatly. I liked how the author's writing style was straightforward and didn't mince words. He also used simple, easy-to-understand words. I liked how this book included images. These images were stunning and vibrant. In fact, there is nothing negative to say about this book. Where Mice Meet the Sea by Victor Orne is a fantastic book that deserves a full rating. So I give this book 5 out of 5 stars because it was both interesting and impactful. I liked how, despite its short length, this book contained a lot of important messages. This book's editing is excellent, and I cannot recommend any changes to it. I recommend this book to young readers who enjoy books about compassion and animal care. This book is brief and can be read in a short amount of time."

Author Information

Born in New York in 1949, Victor Orne has been a craftsman all his life. Disenchanted with the education he was receiving at college, he moved to the coast of Maine, where his dad was from, in search for something better. There, he soon found himself working and learning along side some of the finest craftsmen in the world building custom wooden boats. For him, this was indeed the ultimate form of higher education. In addition to his experience as a boat builder, Victor has crafted a deeper understanding of the creative process and how it applies to our everyday lives. Inspired by actual events, WHERE MICE MEET THE SEA represents his first written attempt to share some of what he has learned. For more information visit: GoKerPlunk.com
