Author Information

Charlie Crane was born in London in 1975 and works as an advertising and editorial photographer for companies including Sony and Ford and publications including the New York Times magazine and W. In 1998 Charlie won the Kodak Gold Award as 'best portrait photographer of the year'. Nicholas Bonner is a North Korea expert. British-born, he established Koryo Tours in 1993, the leading organiser of visits to Pyongyang. He is also a film producer, including 'Crossing the Line', a documentary about American defectors to North Korea premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2006.
