Author Information

Peter holds a doctorate in Critical Theory and his research interests include all aspects of culture. With respect to Chinese Culture, the focus is upon traditional and modern art (a book on directionalities in Chinese art history is forthcoming), photography (A Theory of Black &White Photography: Black & White Photography in China was published in 2016) architecture and traditional gardens (his book Chinese Gardens, with images by Hong Lei, was published in 2017). He has written exhibition texts and catalogue articles on various artists including Gao Bo with whom he has collaborated on Angkor Wat: The Aesthetics of Ruins (forthcoming, 2018). Other areas of research and writing include: Literary Theory and History; the Theory of Drama and Performance; Meaning in Poetry; Temporality and Visual Culture; & Culture as Rituality.
