In Germany, he is a psychotherapist (child, adolescent, adult, and group), a psychiatrist, a neurologist and, formerly, a brain researcher. In 2002, he qualified to teach further education in psychiatry and psychotherapy (lecturer, teaching therapist, and supervisor) (Brandenburg Medical Association). He is also a part-time medical director of non-profit outpatient counseling/rehabilitation centers for patients affected by addiction.
