Overview

"Donny Watson, a sixteen-year-old African American boy in 1984 who was exceptional in both academics and sports, unlike his two siblings. His outstanding achievements led to an invitation to partisipate in a student exchange program at a boys' school in Nairobi, Kenya. His father, a medical doctor, and his housewife mother saw this as an opportunity for him to broaden his horizons and experience the world beyond America's borders. His mother's brother was the United States Ambassador in Kenya, which provided some comfort to his parents, knowing that a family member would be nearby if Donny needed anything.
