OverviewThis is a summary for a 34-page picture book for a young school reader that tells a small story about how a young girl feels when her parents argue. Two Stones is a charming story that exposes a child's fear of her parents' argument. The two stones parallel the lives of her parents in a remarkable way. I am reminded of Japanese aesthetics when the weathering of objects, like stones, makes them more beautiful for their accumulation of experience. Ana learns that her parents have the experience and the love for her that dissolved their argument. The WC is 1200, and there are 20 images and 10 universal images, plus a glossary. I hired NYC Photographer Todd Weinstein for the photographic images. The young girl was selected because she could be perceived as a member of any race. (she is Caucasian, Latina, and Filipino) In 2022, Xlibris executed an advanced marketing campaign that focused on various social media platforms resulting in 4,800,000 impressions in twenty countries. The illustrations are made using black and white Polaroid negative images and the text is accompanied by a set of 10 universal symbols that coincide with the happenings. In addition, the book has a URL link to a companion video, on page three of the print piece.
