OverviewWill Harkins, searching for adventure joined the U.S Air Force in nineteen sixty-six and like so many other young men ended up in the Viet Nam war. After his C-47 gunship, was, shot down, in early sixty-seven; he endured hell, spending a week in a small bamboo cage. he escapes his captor's and eventually rejoins his unit. He extends his tour and flies forty-three more missions. After his enlistment, he starts to work for the Department of Defense. During his thirty-seven year career, Will Harkins had many great adventures and was a part of many conflicts, most of these the common citizen will never hear about. Will Harkins retired in 2003. This book gives his prospective on life, some of his philosophies on living and the secret place in his mind that kept him from going insane during those hard times, and the tragic loss of many of his friends.
