The short-story, is one of the most important literary subgenres in Urdu literature, despite its relative youth. This was influenced by western and literary concepts and tendencies, as well as the contemporary industrial and mechanized environment. MajnooN Gorakhpuri is the most prominent critic, poet, translator and short story writer of Urdu. He played an important role in providing ideological foundations to progressive literature at a critic level. The reflection of Yildirim's way of thinking and style of imagination is clearly visible in his romantic short story writing. He created a new luster in Urdu short story by integrating Western ideas in an Eastern atmosphere and environment.
