Pro-Life vs. Pro-ChoiceThe sides have been practically at war since 1973. With Roe v. Wade the law of the land, the Pro-Choice side has been on the winning side for the whole fight. Because the Pro-Life side makes inroads in various places at various times, the Pro-Choice movement has remained active and powerful for all these years. The Pro-Life side has been a force of great political power all these years, too. There is a fantasy that if only Roe v. Wade were overturned, then we would have no more abortion. Except, of course, this isn't true. It just changes the ground upon which the battle is fought. The Pro-Life side didn't give up and go home for 45 years. Does anyone really expect the Pro-Choice side would give up and go home should they lose a Supreme Court ruling? Of course not. The fight is designed to be endless. The Democrat Party has gotten a lot of political clout from the Pro-Choice side of the fight, so the Establishment Democrats probably don't want the fight to end. The Republican Party has gotten a lot of political clout from the Pro-Life side, so the Establishment Republicans are also not likely to want the fight to end. But then there's President Donald Trump, a President who did not come from the Establishment and owes them very little. Now, after nearly 45 years, the fight can come to a decisive end.
