Author Information

As a six time recording artist who's been on tour several times, engineered hundreds of events for local bands, political rallies, community events, and filmed thousands of hours of footage as a director and cameraman; Matt Haslam has certainly come a far way from being the opening act in his grade school talent shows. In the music industry, he had just four years of hobbyist experience before kicking off his professional debut at just 13 years old by opening the show for mass market bands such as Recycled Percussion who headlines a show at the Quad Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, NV and Christy Jefferson. He has since been featured by magazines and headlined front page news with his performances and professionalism. As an artist who has self-directed 10 professional music videos for his own career, Matt wasn't afraid to leave everything he had on stage while entertaining crowds in the thousands with spectacular lighting shows, pyrotechnics, rain machines, falling curtains, live projection interaction videos, massive set pieces, and guitar tosses. As a singer / songwriter, guitarist, pianist, and percussionist; he's personally written well over 350 original songs and is a current and registered member of the world's largest organization of professional songwriters, ASCAP. His fan base spans continents and currently has members from Germany, France, Russia, England, United States, Canada, Australia, as well as some smaller countries. In the film industry, he's been a professional for just five years after being a hobbyist for two prior years. During those five years as a professional, he's not only self-directed, shot, and edited his own 10 music videos but has been directing, shooting, and editing short films, live broadcasts, political events, and plenty of commercials which have been broadcast on local stations around his hometown of St. Clair, PA. In the equipment industry, he has a college degree in Audio Production and has been certified as a QSC-Sys Installer. He has worked with and for mass market providers, local level professionals, and even local hobbyists in his early years, before becoming a professional in the equipment division at just 15 years old. He's been a part of the audio / video crew for the Vice-President of the United States, engineered plenty of events including college and local graduations, political rallies, and recorded various Pop, Country, Classical, Jazz, Rock, and Native Music albums for local bands.
