OverviewTranslation and the Politics of Peace explores Middle Eastern politics from cultural, political, legal, and diplomatic perspectives to understand the language of politics, media, and negotiation embedded in English and Arabic terms and expressions. It explores approaches to translating and analysing political utterances and written discourse through speeches, media reports, and legal documents, including United Nations resolutions and treaties. This aims to help readers understand the repercussions of political discourse on contemporary Middle East politics as well as on future global events. The present book lays the ground for scholars to understand aspects of sociolinguistics, semantics, pragmatics, syntax, and grammar in both English and Arabic in order to analyse and respond to the prevailing needs of the people in the Middle East and around the world. It also helps to comprehend language as an abstract instrument that facilitates creative interactions amongst the cultures and civilizations of various peoples and nations.
