Overview

After being plagued by tall tales and mean girls as a girl, Laurie spends decades stuffing her feelings down with food and chasing blue-sky romance, convinced that the worst possible outcome for her life would be winding up overweight and single. When middle age hits and that's exactly what happens, she must learn to look inward for love, answers, and the courage to change her mind. Today Is Where You'll Find Me teaches us that a difficult past is not a roadblock for a happy future, but rather a delicate launching pad. This warm, bravely honest, and frequently funny memoir transports us through a touching, dysfunctional childhood, an energetic young adulthood, and a joyous midlife full of growth and self-awareness. Through the ups and downs of life-unconditional friendships, unrequited love, a failed marriage, and ultimately acceptance and forgiveness-Laurie chronicles how she discovers her inner beauty, comes to terms with her physical flaws, and learns to embrace life on her own terms.
