He is the coeditor (with Edward Zlotkowski) of Higher Education and Democracy: Essays on Service-Learning and Civic Engagement (Temple). Matthew Hartley is Associate Professor and Chair of Higher Education Division at the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania.
