Fate has a strange way in bringing people together. When Serenity Avery finally runs from a relationship headed toward a possible fatality, she ends up in the protection of someone that could be far more dangerous by far but has a strange gentleness about him. When her past returns looking to hunt her down...who the true PREY is becomes apparent. Pentacle City was a city with the interactions between shifters and humans for at least a century, but all peace wore down with the arrival of undesirables that have rebelled and taken over the Eastern section of the city from the Dragon Zachery Eros. The Tempest Wolf Pack began to prey on anyone that could be of value to the Dragons in their coo. In their hatreds a jewel had been found and she ran to the hands of the Dragon of the Northern Sector...Ragnarok himself. Once upon the time in the Old West there was a Ranch south of Reno ran by a witch...a fox...a Kitsune...maybe all of the above...Coyote have always been seen around the ranch but never seemed to be a problem. Cattle thrived as well as crops from back in the Spanish Mexico days and no one seemed to worry until many years later after the fate of the Donar Party....was that the witch or was that nature....I wonder. This story takes place in the world of Prey but many years ago in the old west.
