Overview

After a summer of nine typhoons in 1931 the dams on the Yangtze River in China broke completely flooding nearby towns and farms. Twelve-year-old Ting wakes up to a house full of water and her parents nowhere to be found. It's up to her to lead her younger brother and others to safety battling high waters and greedy characters along the way. Will the children survive to be reunited with their parents? Ailynn Collins learned a lot about writing from her teachers at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. She has always loved reading science fiction stories about other worlds and strange aliens. She enjoys creating new characters and worlds for her stories, as well as envisioning what the future might look like.
