Overview

They've survived battles, the Great Fire of London and World War II. Can they survive ancient Rome? When Lizzie goes missing on a day trip to a Roman villa, only Maisie and Danny know she's time-shifted. Going after her puts them in more danger than they thought possible, particularly when they end up in ancient Rome instead of Roman Britain. Nothing is what it seems. They have friends throughout time, and enemies where they least expect. Maisie leads the adventure, shifting through time and finding help from familiar faces from the past. With hunters from the future closing in, the shocking discovery of exactly who is after them changes everything. ... Time Shifters: A Long Way From Home is the exciting, fast-paced sequel to award-winning Time Shifters: Into the Past, a page-turning time travel adventure for children aged 9-12.

Author Information

Kate Frost has wanted to be an author ever since she wrote her first novel during the long months she spent off school following open heart surgery when she was seven. The novel was called London's Burning and was a time travel story set during the Great Fire of London. Over the years Kate has worked in a cinema, a bookshop, a factory and at NHS Direct. She's also worked as ground staff at Edgebaston Tennis Tournament and as a Supporting Artist in the films Vanity Fair, King Arthur and The Duchess. Kate has a MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University and has also taught lifewriting to Creative Writing undergraduates there. Kate lives in the UK with her husband, young son and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and spends her days chasing getting lost in make-believe worlds and not keeping on top of the housework.
