OverviewA humorous retelling of the story of Jonah and the whale. Jonah answers what he sees, what he hears, what he feels, what he tastes and what he smells. The most humorous part of the book is what Jonah smells. He smells himself and he stinks because the whale is vomiting him up. Each of the books in the Bible Patterns for Young Readers series has a page of background information for parents to share with their children. The whole story cannot be told for young readers; the books becomes too complicated for them to read. Thus the background information is provided to fill in the details. For example, with the Jonah story it is important to note that Jesus stated just like Jonah was in the belly of a whale for 3 days, he would be in the heart of the earth for 3 days.
