Overview

Inspired by Bill Martin Jr.'s friendship and writing, Lee Jenkins writes a day by day account of God's amazing miracle in the life of Jonah. It was such a powerful miracle that Jesus talked about it 700 years later. Jim Chansler certainly displays his humor and talent through these illustrations! The Bible Patterns for Young Readers series is unique among Bible stories for children because they are written for beginning readers, ages 4-7. After parents, other adults or older children read the books to young children, they will pick up the patterns and read the books themselves. In a few years children will be ready to read the more complete Bible stories written for children ages 7-10.

Reviews

Sammy (Age 6): I liked the part when Jonah prayed in the whale. We should pray every day! Janie (Age 4): I liked the part when Jonah was in the whale because I really like whales...and unicorns, and dogs, and cats, and rabbits. Kristi (the mom): The children were excited to hear a story they've heard before told in a new way. Joe (the dad): After just a few times reading the book, the kids could follow along, retell the story, and read many of the words.
