It hooked me early on and had me cheering for Meira the whole way. There's a red headed heroine with mad archery skills, action, a ball, sweet moments, fae, tragedy, mystery, shadow creatures, and hints of other fairy tales. Meira is a strong independent girl willing to fight for those she loves and her kingdom. Despite the tragedy and trials thrown her way, she continues pushing determined to go the distance. I love her relationship with her father and with the Prince. She has a way of seeing things others over look. This was a fun sweet read. It had its darkness to overcome but nothing too dark.
