Author William Alexander Lambeth, M.D., Ph.D was Professor of Hygeine and Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds at the University of Virginia. Author Warren H. Manning was an influential American landscape designer who promoted an informal and natural approach to garden design. Manning, who worked in Frederick Law Olmsted's office for eight years, was a key figure in the formation of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
