Author Information

Juan Rafael Zamorano-Mansilla teaches English Language and Linguistics at the Facultad de Filologia Inglesa at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He obtained his PhD in 2006 with a dissertation on the expression of tense and aspect in English and Spanish. His publications mainly focus on tense, aspect and modality, as well as the use of new technologies in linguistics.Carmen Maiz received her PhD from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where she currently lectures in the English Department. She has published numerous book chapters and articles on intercultural pragmatics, multimodality and contrastive linguistics, with a focus on English and Spanish.Elena Dominguez lectures in the English Department of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. Some of her publications include a multimodal approach to literary, journalistic and advertising discourse. She is currently collaborating as an external member with the European Evidentiality and Modality (EUROEVIDMOD) Research Project team.MVictoria Martin de la Rosa works as an Instructor at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where she received her PhD in English Linguistics in 2002. Since then, she has been applying the tool of metaphor to the analysis of multimodal messages such as advertisements and to the analysis of the North-American education policy, with particular regard to Obama's educational discourse.
