OverviewIn this latest work Think: The Foundation of Self-Awareness and Engagement, J. Ibeh Agbanyim, in collaboration with Raveen Arora, expands on the precepts of his previous works and addresses the idea of metacognition or mindfulness and the potential within all of us to affect the condition of our immediate social environments. By taking basic philosophical tenets ranging from the Book of James to DesCartes, and by expanding on psychological ideas such as Jung's shadow aspect, Agbanyim and Arora attempt to show us ways in which we can eradicate our default triggers of unconscious biases and actually control our reactions in the moment. To think about how we think, and to recognize when we are slaves to preconception, are the keys to unlocking the door to a more tolerant and thoughtful universe. Holding up the belief systems of icons such as Mother Teresa of Calcutta and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Agbanyim and Arora define our various forms of ignorance and guide us to a healthier state of awareness and tolerance. This book is a poignant introduction to the idea of mindfulness and an eloquent beginning for those seeking talking points on behavioral change for societal advancement.
