Overview

Contemporary art and design-savvy parents will love sharing these masterworks of art with toddlers and preschoolers as they read about rhymes, opposites, and of course, feelings in this gorgeous follow-up to There Are No Animals in this Book (Only Feelings)! Contemporary art expert and parenting coach Chani Sanchez has again brought together an A-list group of contemporary artists' works to teach children about empathy. The mock-exasperated narrator of the first book is back, this time trying (with mixed success) to explain opposites and rhyming while (futilely) attempting to resist as the animal characters from the artworks do their best to get into the book. Through the animals' experience, children can explore their discomfort with how it feels to be left out, and learn how to understand and express those feelings. Vibrant works of art illustrate the feelings and bring it all together in a package sure to please art-lovers. . this author's unique combination of expertise--she is an expert on both contemporary art and emotional intelligence--combines with a gently humorous approach to make it easy to teach young children about feelings . uses child-friendly art that is colorful, relatable, and intriguing so that children want to turn pages . introducing children to major works of art at a young age helps to build artistic literacy and a spirit of open-mindedness to art
