Overview

The setting for Thee We Adore is rural Old Mexico, circa 1920, telling the story of a sheepherder Eduardo, his wife Clara and their three children, the youngest Benito, who is crippled. The two older children, Maria Josefina and Jesus are both active, bright children who love to play and sing, but Benito is never able to join in their games. The family attends church regularly and all pray that some way might be found that Benito can have surgery to fix his leg so that he can play with the other children. However, through their faith in God and love for Benito, the little boy is healed in a dramatic and beautiful miracle vision of Jesus Christ, an angel and all the company of Heaven. The book, Thee We Adore, has been 800 years in its writing, taking its name from a poem, Thee We Adore, written by St. Thomas Aquinas during his lifetime from 1225 to 1274 A.D. In 2011, the title and words from the poem inspired well-known composer/musician Thomas Pavlechko to write a commissioned choral work with orchestra, organ and harp accompaniment. Participating in the 2012 debut performance, author and vocalist, Bonnie Lee Tancre was inspired to write the book Thee We Adore, first edition published in 2013 and 2nd edition published in 2014, in conjunction with a full length fiction work, The Bough That Will Not Break. Bonnie Lee Tancre is an author, vocalist, music therapist and Christian counselor, residing in Colorado. Bonnie received a Masters Degree in Music Therapy and Psychology from Southern Methodist University. Previously published works: How to make the Quantum Leap without Falling in the River and Thee We Adore, 1st edition.
