Overview"Al Hajj Sekou Tall (1913-1985) was one of the most important cultural figures in Northern Mali and Burkina Faso. Besides his many professional accomplishments, Tall was also the nephew of Tierno Bokar Tall (otherwise known as ""the Sage of Bandiagara""), the cousin of Amadou Hampâté Bâ, and next-in-line to become the Toucouleur Fulani and Dogon chief at Bandiagara, Mali.
