He walked 14 miles to see them perform at Woodstock in August 1969. During 1970 and 1971, Stewart photographed The Who at the Woodstock Music Festival, Fillmore East, Tanglewood Music Shed and Forest Hills Tennis Stadium using a Beseler Topcon Super-D 35mm single-lens reflex camera with 36 exposure film and a 135mm telephoto lens for closeups.
