"Ramon Gil's ""The Whiz Kids from DARPA: Book One"" is a visual delight with an inclusive storyline featuring diverse characters. A rare gem in the realm of quality artwork and representation, making it a must-buy! Gifted it to my 12 year old boy, and it's a hit among him and his friends. Gil's influence in the graphic novel world and Asian American communities shines through. A captivating read for all! - Kathy W We really liked it! The drawings and stories are captivating and entertaining! I was a little concerned that the author might gloss over the racial diversity of his characters, but he engages their identities beautifully and with care. It's one of my favorite parts about the book and gives me plenty to talk about with my kids. Would absolutely recommend, and can't wait for part 2! - KZM Ramon Gil's ""The Whiz Kids from DARPA: Book One"" with its captivating graphics stands out for its inclusive storytelling and diverse representation. It's tough to find good artwork these days and tougher to find a story that represent different ethnicities, making this one a must-buy. I got gifted this and my 13 and 16 yr olds love it! They show their friends and their parents and they also love it. From the engaging storyline to the vibrant characters, this book is a hit with both young readers and seasoned comic fans alike. Gil's influence as a mover and shaker in the comic world, Filipino-American, Asian American communities shines through. Enjoy! - Antonio Del Rosario My daughter and I loved this graphic novel. Illustrations are top-notch and the story is funny but thought-provoking at the same time. Ramon definitely captures a good balance of all of the elements that can keep the attention of my kids and I found it a pleasure to read as well. Definitely recommended! - DBP I started reading comicbooks as a preteen in the early '60s. Over the years, as my tastes matured, so too did the comics I read. While I personally enjoyed the more matured-themed comics, I always regretted that comics for younger readers seemed to fall by the wayside. with The Whiz Kids from DARPA, Ramon Gill has directly addressed that issue. This wonderful comic is a continuation of his most excellent series The Men from DARPA. With this issue, Gill has ""de-aged"" his characters making them kids while continuing the same entertaining writing and illustrating style he set with the earlier books in the series. Here the stories have the kids (who are still working for very real Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) conducting various experiments that, at the end of each chapter, are supported by supporting information backed up by web addresses where further information can be found. Gill (who is a teacher at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC) pens these stories with style and wit, never talking down to his young readers, but always on a lever that they can understand. - Martha Gurvich"

"""Ramon Gil is a writer who treasures his craft."" - Tom DeFalco, Writer/Editor""It is an honest pleasure to find not only a science fiction title out there, but one produced by a writer who seems to understand that drama doesn't have to be all dramatic, and humor doesn't have to be all belly-laughs."" - Robert Sodaro, The Examiner.com""Clever, funny, a guy who's willing to put his money where his mouth is."" - Mike Gold, Comic Mix"
