H.G.Wells, in full Herbert George Wells, (born September 21st, 1866, Bromley, Kent, England died August 13th, 1946, London), English novelist, journalist, sociologist, and historian best known for such science fiction novels as The Time Machine and The War of the Worlds and such comic novels as Tono-Rungay and The History of Mr. Polly. Today, Wells is best known as ""the Father of Science Fiction."" Well's fantastical tales continue to fascinate audiences. Several of his works have returned to the big screen in recent years. A remake of War of the Worlds (2005) featured Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning as two of the humans fighting the alien invasion. Richard Fairlamb (born August 18th, 1969, South Shields, England) is a freelance illustrator. Richard took his Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in both South Tyneside College and College. He progressed to working for several illustration studios in Central London such as Helicopter Grafix, Three Blind Mice, and Stage One Storyboards, producing illustrations, storyboards and visuals for clients such as Saatchi & Saatchi, RSA Films, Channel 4, Nintendo, The Museum of London, Pure Illustrations, Usborne Books and many more. Richard has also taught Figure Drawing at Barnes and Brick Lane, and exhibited in London, Buxton and Runnymede. He presently lives and works as a freelance illustrator from his home studio in Worthing, West Sussex.
