OverviewThe immigration of Bolivians to Brazil is a functionalist paradigm based on the assumption that society has a concrete image of Bolivians as slaves to the textile industry. These Bolivians do not arrive in Brazil as individuals, but as individuals who, in most cases, bring their families with them and therefore begin to interact socially and culturally with the entire Brazilian system. Within this scenario, we sought to understand the feelings and expressions of multiculturalism among Bolivian students in public schools in the eastern zone of São Paulo, how they were treated by their classmates in the school context, and how they were integrated. It was concluded that some feel Brazilian and do not feel any major differences in the treatment of their classmates, seeking to integrate into the context and, in a way, renouncing their roots, while others, due to family conflicts and difficulties faced both in their country of origin and in their current country, have great difficulty adapting and forming relationships, feeling neither Brazilian nor Bolivian.
