OverviewLate Summer, 1854. The Ottomans have been struggling with Russian encroachment around the Black Sea for months and now their allies from Europe have finally arrived on the Crimean Peninsula to aid their cause. It is a rough go from day one. While Russian holds a stronghold in the city of Sevastopol, the allies need to cross five rivers in order to break their opponents grasp on the land and its people. That would be easier if the allies got along, but old habits die hard and despite forty years between the Napoleon Wars and now, there are still grudges to settle. Nearly every officer of rank is a veteran, and have brought their past prejudices into the current struggle. Young vivandire Josephine Toussaint means to overcome her grandmother's hatred for the Russians by finding something worth saving in Crimea, and what she ends up finding is way more than she bargained for. While Russia hopes for a repeat victory in driving the French away, it quickly becomes known that this is not the same fight as when Napoleon came east. Will Josephine be able to mend years of war-torn heartache, or get swept up in the chaos of it all?
