Overview

Meet Jim Milligan, the true story of an Alabama boy born in 1949, who was raised in Chicago in the 50's and 60's. This street-smart kid went to Vietnam during the height of the war, and came home a hero. But, during that time, protests were going on over this controversial war, and there was really no welcome home for these young boys who risked their lives. The story begins with a simple two day trip in 2004 that lasted two months. During these two months, many aspects of Jim's life are unfolded to the reader. The story depicts how this young man faced so many challenges during his lifetime and how he overcame poverty, adversity and war.
