Author Information

Rory A. Cooper is an American bioengineer who currently serves as FISA/PVA Distinguished Professor, Past Chair, in the Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology and professor of Bioengineering, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. He is also Associate Dean for Inclusion in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. He is the founder and director of the Human Engineering Research Laboratories. Colonel (Ret.) Paul. F. Pasquina, MD, is Professor and Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). He also serves as the Chief of the Department of Rehabilitation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC). He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and USUHS. Lt.Col. Douglas Etter is the Executive Officer and Chief of Staff for the Veteran's Affairs Administration for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in charge of the state's six veteran's homes and all the state's veterans' programs. In addition, Lt.Col. Etter is a Chaplain for the Army and the Pennsylvania State Police. He has served for over twenty years in the Army National Guard. Lt.Col. Etter was Combat Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2005 to 2007.
