Overview

This book is a collection of personal experiences over a nine year period of America's political and ideological views. It describes the formation of the Tea Party movement, and from there, takes the reader to different events on both the left and the right of the political spectrum as well as to protests and events which were part of national and international news stories. Each chapter builds upon the last to provide a broader perspective of what happened in America but as seen from someone who walked among the protesters. This provides some insight into how people think and what they believe, and how those beliefs are shaping American politics.

Author Information

Eddie has been a hobbyist photographer for more than 30 years. He also took an early interest in politics by watching news programs and reading the Corpus Christi Caller Times. His first class project on politics was in 1980 when he and several of his classmates had to present a report about John B. Anderson, an Illinois Republican who had run as an Independent for president that same year. He learned at an early age the importance of a good education and how it can help lift him out of poverty. Over the years, he attended various Republican events but was attracted to the Tea Party movement of 2009. He combined his interests in photography and politics, and earned the title of Tea Party documentarian from his colleagues. Believing there was more to learn, he ventured out on his own to observe Democrats and their supporters. He witnessed over time distinct differences between those with conservative values and those with liberal values. As he watched people at their protests and rallies, he saw political affiliations disappear and be replaced by intense ideologies. These demonstrations of raw human emotions drove him to want to learn more and discover how they influenced American politics. The book he has written is a first-hand account of his observations over a nine year period. It explores the origins of the Tea Party movement and its influence on elections, but he also examines the progression of political philosophy over political affiliation. From the first Tea Party rally to the Women's March of 2018, The Unwritten Chronicles documents his journey into the heart of democracy and explains in detail how America is a bastion of differing opinions and beliefs.
