My first unit was Coast Guard Station Saginaw River. There I was responsible for search and rescue in Saginaw Bay and Lake Huron, where I performed numerous rescues. Earned Coast Guard Good Conduct Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation with Operational Designator and Meritorious Unit Commendation I was also responsible for standing a radio watch, listening for distress calls on the VHF-FM marine radio. I was transferred to Coast Guard Cutter Bristol Bay WTGB 102 where I worked as a Fireman and Oiler. I advanced to the rank of Machinery Technician Third Class at Yorktown, Virginia and spent my last two years of enlisted service at Search and Rescue Station Panama City Florida. Honorably Discharged after 4 years active duty service. I obtained my FAA Airframe and Powerplant mechanics license in 1988 and began working as a mechanic for the Midway Commuter, which was a wholly owned subsidiary of Midway Airlines. From there I worked for Midway Aircraft Engineering in Miami, Florida working as a mechanic on DC-9 and B-737 aircraft. I advanced to the Position of Senior Aircraft Maintenance Planner where I was responsible for scheduling both routine overnight maintenance and heavy maintenance for one third of Midway's fleet. After Midway went out of business I moved to California and began working as a mechanic on B-747 aircraft which was something that I had always wanted to do. Later I began working in Phoenix, Arizona at Sky Harbor Airport and various repair stations throughout the region. I obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Legal Study's from Kaplan University in 2011 while on the President's List. In 2013, I studied Computer Numeric Control at Glendale Community College and earned a position on the Dean's List and a Certificate of Completion in that program. I was released in 2017 after fighting my case for 14 years and obtained my Certificate of Absolute Discharge from the Arizona Department of Corrections in 2018.
