Overview

The title of this book, The Truth Is In The Balance was chosen for two reasons. First, I believe that in many issues of Christian doctrine, the positions that are taken can lead to extremes and quite often the truth can be discovered in finding the balance. Second, I feel strongly that this issue of going to theological extremes can and really does put the truth into a precarious position. What is Truth? Pilate asked Jesus in John 18:38. Even Pilate knew that truth was something not easily defined. Truth in the Person of Jesus Christ was standing in front of him and yet he still could not discern it. Truth is something we should fight for in a spirit of humility and love. It is my prayer that with the help of the Holy Spirit, this book will help you to be led into a deeper revelation and understanding of what the truth is.

Barry came to Christ in 1989, his conversion experience was a radical road to Dam- ascus experience, transforming him from an avowed agnostic to a fervent follower of Christ. Since that time he has had a passion to introduce people to Christ. He has been involved in the ministry team of Dove Ministries the ministry of prominent New Zealand Healing Evangelist, Bill Subritzky, Barry completed his professional ministry training, the Master of Divinity degree at Oral Roberts University in May 2006. Subsequent to this he launched, a global Gospel Festival ministry - Barry Raeburn Evangelistic Association. His ministry conducts Gospel Festivals in towns and cities, mobilizes churches and promotes the event through secular and Christian media. The Festivals not only bring people to Christ but they have an uplifting and rejuvenating effect on the Pastors in the city. Many Pastors report increased numbers, greater enthusiasm for the gospel and a greater unity amongst the local churches. The ministry has been privileged to travel to many nations including India, Bolivia, Spain, El Salvador, Brazil, Ethiopia, Fiji and the Philippines conducting Gospel events. Barry also has a heart for revival. Barry has ministered at Church services and Conferences in the United States, England, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Botswana and New Zealand. His ministry has seen the effects of revival producing lasting and ongoing change in the hearts and lives of people ministered to.
