Reviews

"""This book bristles with everything you could ever want from a western--high-adventure, humor, violence, romance, and a sparkling cast of characters--while also charting new ground with its risk-taking and moral complexity. The dynamic between Indie, Sheriff Brick, and Mattie traverses a wild, unpredictable terrain that keeps the reader reassessing their own allegiances until the very end. Matthew Nies has crafted a tale that feels both mythic and palpably real. I couldn't put it down!"" --J. J. Strong, author of Us Kids Know ""Matthew Nies doesn't simply tell a story; he breathes the soul of the plains onto every page. This exquisitely poetic debut novel will leave readers hungry for more."" --Bill Rivers, author of Last Summer Boys"
