"Sue Huband was born in Sedgley in the West Midlands. She was educated at Dudley Girls 'High School and subsequently, spent over twenty years teaching in a number of primary schools in the Black Country. Because of ill health, Sue's teaching career ended prematurely, as Deputy Headteacher at Hawbush Primary School in Brierley Hill. Having retired, she began writing but never lost her desire to inspire and stimulate the imaginations of youngsters who streamed in and out of her Worcestershire home. In recent years, Sue and her husband David have spent much of their time in the Mediterranean, studying other cultures and legends, in addition to creating the Time Travels of Arabella and Tom. Sue and David enjoy spending time with their many friends, often sitting around the kitchen table enjoying a meal. Sue loves cooking and hopes that her meals are more appetising than those of Ivy Twigg, Arabella's mother.
