Overview

D is a vampire hunter--and he's just been paid ten times his asking price to do exactly that, an assignment to destroy Duke Van Doren, administrator of the northern Frontier. Among the complications are that no less than three other groups, each with their own agenda, are headed for the Duke themselves...and D's supposed to hang back from striking until his target has eliminated all three! The question is, will the Duke oblige the terms of the contract--or does he actually want to be destroyed? Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music! Narrated by Scott McCormick. Featuring David Cui Cui as D, Christopher Walker as Duke Julius van Doren, Terence Aselford as The Left Hand, Khaya Fraites as Valerie, Charlie Albers as Shyna, Stephon Walker as Gilshark, Anthony Palmini as Vulcan Lura, James J. Johnson as Cotil, and Todd Scofield as General Kiniski. With additional performances by Michael John Casey, Holly Adams, Ken Jackson, Steve Wannall, Eric Messner, Donald Guzzi, Nicole Shara, Christopher Williams, Ozzie Jacobs, and Jameson Hunt.

Author Information

Hideyuki Kikuchi is a Japanese author famous for his horror novels. His most famous works include the Vampire Hunter D series, Darkside Blues, and Wicked City. He has been compared to both Stephen King and H. P. Lovecraft. Kikuchi was born in Choshi, Japan, on September 25, 1949. He attended Aoyama Gakuin University and was trained as a writer by famed author Kazuo Koike. His first novel, Demon City Shinjuku, was published in 1982. Kikuchi became close friends with writer and director Yoshiaki Kawajiri during his adaption of Wicked City and the two have since collaborated on Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust and the OVA of Demon City Shinjuku. Yoshitaka Amano is a world-renowned fine artist known for his work on Final Fantasy, Sandman, and Vampire Hunter D. Michael John Casey is an in-demand narrator with a background in film and stage acting. Anthony Palmini has had leading roles in very popular audiobook series, including A Court of Thorns and Roses as Rhysand and as Kingfisher in Quicksilver. Bringing these powerful, lead male characters to life is just one of the many ranges he provides as he can also voice a variety of characters ranging from serious, dark, broody characters to fun, youthful, larger-than-life characters. His background as a improv comedy stage actor, video editor/director and music composer helps him in not only to stay sharp and deliver any kind of performance needed for a project but also how to work with people behind the scenes and communicate on what is needed on the technical end. His narration style can be causal and funny to powerful and dramatic depending on what tone is required from the story being told. Khaya Fraites is a New York-based voice actor. She has narrated over 50 books and has been featured in Business Insider, Empire Magazine, and NBC's Today in the Bay for her voice work. She has received an Earphones Award and has been nominated for a One Voice Award. Some Macmillan titles she's lent her voice to include Where Shadows Meet by Patrcie Caldwell and The Summer I Ate the Rich by Maika & Maritza Moulite. She is inspired by stories about women across all genres and loves the opportunity to help tell these stories with her voice work. Charlie Albers is a British-born voice actor, now based outside of NYC, where she voices for clients globally from her professionally built, beautiful home studio. Her previous acting training and experience, knowledge of the corporate world, and education/training in food science and psychology all come into play in her work now, where she can take any manuscript and work through it with ease. Charlie has an intense love for reading; as a mom of three, reading to her children is the biggest joy. She has a rule that they can (and do) buy any book, in audio or print, anytime. There is never a ""no"" when it comes to reading or listening to books. Their library of print and audiobooks is ever increasing. Terence Aselford is an in-demand narrator with a background in film and stage acting. Scott McCormick is an in-demand narrator with a background in film and stage acting.
