Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationWilliam Shakespeare (April 26, 1564 (baptised) - April 23, 1616) was an English poet, playwright and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called England's national poet and the Bard of Avon. His extant works, including collaborations, consist of approximately 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems and a few other verses, some of uncertain authorship. His plays have been translated into every major living language and are performed more often than those of any other playwright. Luke Daniel Paiva, M. Ed., is a teacher and a children's author. A lover of Shakespeare, he appreciates the bard's clever observations about people and his ability to subtly (or not so subtly) mix them with humor. He lives with his wife and two boys in Franklin, Tennessee. Roberto Irace is an illustrator, graphic designer, curator, and art director from Italy. Also known as Erre, he provided the illustrations for all three titles in the Play on Shakespeare series. Gildart Jackson is a professional actor with experience on stage, on screen, and behind the mic. Best known for his role as Gideon on Charmed, he has narrated more than seventy audiobooks and has appeared on Providence, General Hospital, Stargate: Atlantis, Las Vegas, and CSI as well as in The Seagull, My Fair Lady, and Private Eyes at the Old Globe.
